I believe in the Sunsets of Botswana

A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves. -Lao Tzu

I believe in the sunsets of Botswana.

In the dust kicked up by donkey carts and the pulling of a country.

In bare feet and the beginning of a movement, where children will rise up and choose to know.

I believe in these children, whose eyes like lightning demand something more. These almost-adults, who, when left alone, choose to enter into new beginnings. Who choose to educate, with what they themselves have learned.

They, who choose to Hope.

I believe in those who shift to fill the blanks and find a way to help Them progress, and I believe in those who will watch Them, and follow.

I believe in those who leave their lives to better the lives of others. Who give barefoot children the opportunity to Ask, and to Be Heard. Who bring knowledge, and the chance to make something new happen. I believe in the windows they open, and as they watch the dust and wonder if their work is Progressing a Nation, I believe it is.
